Internal learning factors are factors that come from the students themselves, this includes biological, physiological and psychological conditions of students ranging from interests, talents, intelligence to student motivation in learning. Barriers to learning that come from the students themselves are indeed difficult to overcome, because the only one who can change them is the students themselves. However, there is nothing wrong if the teacher knows some of the internal factors that hinder students from learning, such as the following:

  1. Health

Health is an important factor in human life, especially students. A healthy body helps humans perform various activities easily and optimally.

Students’ poor health conditions will interfere with their learning process. This causes students to be less enthusiastic, tired quickly, easily drowsy, easily dizzy, and so on so that it hinders learning.

Students will lose their grasping power quickly and this condition greatly affects their learning process. If parents or teachers have noticed that a student’s health condition is not good, they must be considered and asked to rest to restore their health.

  1. Psychological

Psychological factors are one that many people don’t pay attention to. Psychological factors are factors that come from a person’s psychological state. This also greatly affects the student learning process.

If the teacher and parents have seen the psychological condition of the child/student is not good, then they can be talked to. One of the most important things, teachers or parents can take children to a psychologist to overcome psychological problems so that they are no longer hampered in learning.

Mental or psychological health of children is as important as physical health. Let students rest first, don’t let them think hard and be given a lot of assignments so they don’t get stressed.

  1. Feeling bored

In learning, of course, there will be times for anyone to experience boredom. Saturation can be a barrier for students in the learning process. Feeling bored in learning is very natural, especially for students.

Saturation can occur because the material is difficult, has been studying for too long, or other things that make learning not enjoyable. This will later make it difficult for students to digest the lesson.

What must be done to overcome boredom is refreshing. You can take a walk to see the trees, play a game for a while, and so on.

So that students don’t feel bored, you can also use interesting and fun learning methods such as experimental methods, discussions and others. In this way, students return to their enthusiasm for learning.

  1. Intellectuality or Intelligence

Internal factors in student life, namely intrapersonal intelligence is one of the things that can hinder student learning activities. Intelligence will greatly determine the quality of learning and students’ comprehension in receiving lessons. This one obstacle can be overcome and students will be more enthusiastic in learning.

It takes guidance from parents and teachers to help students. Parents and teachers certainly understand more about the condition of their children at home or at school. Teachers and parents should help students to be more diligent in studying and tell the benefits so that these obstacles can be overcome.

As a teacher, you can establish a good relationship with parents to work together to motivate each other’s learning so that they will return to the spirit of participating in learning activities. Learning motivation can overcome learning barriers in students.

  1. Interest in Learning

The obstacle that most often hinders students in learning can be said to be a decrease in interest or intention in learning. It can also be said that students who are less interested in learning are losing their motivation to learn.

If there is no interest, it is certain that learning activities will not run smoothly and be hampered. This is very influential on the activities of student learning activities. Students can be helped to be more enthusiastic and motivated to learn by parents and teachers.

  1. Attitude or Behavior

This internal factor is one that greatly influences the continuity of a student’s learning. Students who have a bad attitude will experience obstacles in learning as well.

Students’ attitudes or behavior can be influenced by the performance of teachers, friends, the environment at school, home, or playground, as well as lessons at school. By improving these conditions, it will anticipate negative attitudes from students in learning activities.

In this case, character education is needed by students to build their attitudes or behavior better. Teachers not only provide subject matter, but are good examples for students to follow.

  1. Student Readiness

Readiness to learn is a condition where at the beginning of learning activities a person is ready to provide a response or answer to achieve certain learning objectives. Students’ readiness to learn at the beginning of the activity or during the learning process is very important to note, because it affects the learning outcomes later. Not a few students whose learning process is hampered or disturbed because of their unpreparedness in understanding the subject matter.

To overcome this, as a teacher you can pay attention to student learning readiness and always repeat the previous subject matter related to the material to be taught later. So that students will more easily understand the new material.
