There are various forms of learning methods or models that teachers can use to increase students’ enthusiasm for learning. The following are some forms of creative learning for millennial students that can be used, namely:
- Use props
Learning models through teaching aids can be an interesting choice for millennial student learning. This method can be used by teachers for subjects that are usually less popular and sometimes feared by children, such as Mathematics. Often mathematics is feared by students because numbers are a little difficult to understand, unlike other theoretical lessons.
To overcome this, teachers can use teaching aids in teaching. For example, in mathematics, you can use a motorbike to be a teaching aid. Motors will be included in class as an example to learn about the material of tubes and circles. Rest assured that after changing the learning method, students will be bolder in math subjects.
- Role Playing
One of the most popular learning models is role playing. In including games in learning, students can be more enthusiastic and interested without feeling pressured to follow the learning process with the material to be studied.
What can be done in this activity is to determine the scenario first. After that, form a group of at least 5 people and explain the competencies to be achieved to the whole group.
Each group demonstrates the scenario that has been determined by the teacher. Next, they will discuss the things they have played. Finally, each group will present the conclusions they have made.
- Dragon Ball
The dragon ball learning method is a learning model that is also fun and liked by students. Students will be excited to ask each other questions for their friends as they study together.
How to play must learn the subject matter first. After that, form groups and invite the group leaders to explain about the material that has been delivered. Then they have to re-explain the material to their group mates.
Each student will have to write down any one question on a sheet of paper containing the material explained by the group leader. Then the paper is made into a ball and for about 15 minutes it is randomly tossed from one student to another.
After students have got one ball/one question, give each student the opportunity to answer the questions on the paper in turn. After all students have answered, the teacher and students must evaluate the material.
- Facilitator and Explaining
Debate and brainstorming can be done by the teacher by grouping students. One party will act as a facilitator and explain the material, and the other will be in charge of listening.
Students are given the opportunity to explain the material to other students. With this, discussion in class will be created and creative ideas will emerge. Lessons are easier to accept and all parties will understand and listen to each other.
